The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The customer may hear a high pitched buzz or whine noise after the engine is shut off. This buzz or whine noise is coming from the solenoids in the transmission. These solenoids will stay active during the TCM shut down, which will last about ten seconds.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Do NOT make any attempts to repair this concern. This is a normal characteristic of this vehicle. If the noise lasts for more than 10 seconds, or the customer also has a complaint of the battery going dead, refer to bulletin 08-08-57-003.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
