The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some customers may comment that the second row bench center seat belt buckles have a crack in the plastic cover on the buckle side. It has been found that this could happen if the second row bench seat is folded flat and the seat belt is still buckled.
During a PDI inspection please insure that the second row bench center seat belt buckle is unbuckled so the seat belt will not become cracked when a demonstration of the seat function is performed. Additionally, if your customer has a seat belt buckle that is found cracked, inform the customer of the possibility of the crack developing as a result of the center belt being buckled when the seat is folded flat.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
