Subject:Front Floor Wet/Module Communication Loss/Various Electrical Concerns (Seal Seam)

Models:2008 Buick Enclave
2007-2008 GMC Acadia
2007-2008 Saturn OUTLOOK

Condition

    • Some customers may comment that the right front floor is wet.
    • Although a leak on the IP BEC could cause various electrical concerns, the only reported effect has been rare cases of the engine continuing to run until all the fuel has been used up from the fuel line with the ignition key in the OFF position.
    • This leak may also cause some communication issues between certain electrical modules due to water dripping on the IP BEC.

Cause

Object Number: 2047234 Size: SH

Water from the right front drain hose exits the vehicle through the plenum and may re-enter through the un-sealed seam at the front of the dash.

Correction

  1. Remove the windshield wipers and cowl screen.
  2. In order to verify the waterleak, run a small amount of water into the square hole inside the cowl while looking at the IP BEC.
  3. Allow the water to dry and proceed to step 4.

  4. Object Number: 2047235 Size: SH
