Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement with Rear Twist Axle
Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft link upper nut (1).
- Remove the stabilizer shaft link lower nut (3).
- Remove the stabilizer shaft link (2) from the suspension strut and stabilizer shaft.
Installation Procedure
- Install the stabilizer link (2) to the suspension strut and stabilizer shaft.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the stabilizer shaft link nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Lower the vehicle.
Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement with Rear IRS
Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft link bolt and nut.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft link from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the stabilizer link into the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the stabilizer shaft link bolt and nut.
Tighten
Tighten the stabilizer shaft link nut to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Lower the vehicle.
