J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove both of the front tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  4. Remove the right and left front fender liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  5. Remove both front headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement .
  6. Disconnect both daytime running lamps (DRL).
  7. Use the J 38778 to remove the push-in retainers (3) from the upper and lower front bumper fascia (1).

  9. Remove the 2 hidden fasteners from the upper rear corners of the front fascia.
  10. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.
  11. Remove the DRL from the fascia.
  12. Remove the screws securing the energy absorber to the lower fascia.
  13. Remove the impact bar energy absorber from the lower fascia.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the DRL to the fascia. Connect the wiring as the fascia is put on the vehicle.
  2. Position the energy absorber to the lower fascia.
  3. Install the screws in order to secure the energy absorber to the lower fascia.
  4. Align the front bumper fascia (1) to the front impact bar and to the body.
  5. Install the push-in retainers (3) to the upper and lower front bumper fascia.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Secure both rear upper corner fascia fasteners.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  9. Connect the daytime running lamps (DRL).
  10. Install both front headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement .
  11. Install the right and left front fender liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  12. Install both of the front tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
