AC Blows Warm Or Is Inoperative - keywords air battery cable compressor condition contact hose hot leak line pipe rub

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

AC may blow warm or is inoperative. This is the result of an leak in the low pressure AC line. This is the line attached to the compressor closest to the AC pulley/clutch assembly. The cause of the leak is due to the positive battery cable from the starter routed under the AC line applying upward pressure on the AC line. Over time, this may result in a fractured line or a leak. This will only affect vehicles built prior to 7/24/06.

Replace the low pressure line and reroute the positive battery cable over the HVAC pipe. See the picture below for the proper routing of the positive battery cable.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
