The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Vehicle exhibited a "starting disabled" message and sets U1064 & U1040 in the ECM and U1000 and/or U1017 in other modules.The Tech 2 will communicate with all devices.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Inspect for an open in Class 2 circuit branch to ECM at under hood connector C105. The green wire (circuit 1049) terminal on male (body harness) side may have been poorly crimped onto the wire and eventually the wire separated from the terminal. Repair
as needed and retest. (Note: The other end of the same wire may also become separated from the terminal)
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
