The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

SERVICE VME

Recently released DTB 05-06-01-005A describes an audible whistle type noise emanating from the engine on acceleration or steady state speeds. This noise has been root caused as the PCV tube on 3.5L (VIN L RPO LX9) equipped engines. Please be aware of this concern as the customer may describe the noise as transmission related. Refer to DTB 05-06-01-005A for repair instructions.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
