Subject: | Power Sliding Door Only Opens From Inside/Outside Door Handle(s) |
Models: | 2005-2008 Buick Terraza |
| 20052008 Chevrolet Uplander |
| 20052008 Pontiac Montana SV6 |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment that at times, the Left and/or Right Power Sliding Door (PSD) will not open from the over head console switch, B-Pillar switch, or RKE Key Fob. However if the inside or outside door handles are used to release the PSD door latches,
the PSD will power open every time. This may be the result of a voltage variation between the Park input circuit from the BCM to the Left and Right PSD Modules and actual system voltage. The Left and Right PSD Modules may interpret this voltage variation as
the vehicle not in Park even though the Left and Right PSD Module data on the Tech 2 shows Park. This condition can also set DTC B3260 (PSD Latch Circuit Fault) in one or both of the PSD Modules.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Using a DMM (Digital Multimeter), compare actual system voltage to the voltage reading on circuit 275 at the BCM or PSD Modules. Reference SI Doc 1517652 (right PSD), SI Doc 1517654 (left PSD) or SI Doc 1518824 (BCM Doors and Lighting) for schematics.
The voltage on circuit 275 must be very close to system voltage. If the voltages are not the same, replace the BCM and evaluate operation.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
