Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement .
2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim panel only if a cable adjustment is necessary. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement .

Rear Compartment Lid Latch Release Actuator Cable Bolt

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tip
To access the actuator bolts the rear compartment lid must be put back in the downwards position. After removing the rear compartment trim avoid damaging the rear glass by putting cloth in the rear tub area before lowering the top into it.

Tighten
7 N·m (62 lb in)

Rear Compartment Lid Latch Release Actuator Cable

Tip

1. Disconnect all electrical connectors and cables from the actuator assembly.
2. Disconnect the cable at the connection point found in the right wheel area inside the rear compartment.
3. An adjustment may need to be made after the actuator cable is replaced. If an adjustment is needed use the adjustment procedure found in the service information. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Buttress Latch Release Cable Adjustment .
