Removal Procedure

    Important: It is not necessary to remove the upper steering column trim cover. Only disengage it and leave it loose on top of the steering column.

  1. Disengage the upper steering column trim cover from the lower steering column trim covers.
  2. Remove the left lower steering column trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  3. Remove the driver knee bolster bracket. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement.
  4. Remove the steering column upper support bracket nuts.
  5. Loosen but do not remove the steering column lower support bracket bolt.
  6. Lower the steering column as needed to gain access to the turn signal multifunction switch.
  7. Disconnect the turn signal multifunction switch electrical connector.

  8. Object Number: 1551345  Size: SH
  9. Depress the locking tabs and remove the turn signal multifunction switch (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1551345  Size: SH
  1. Position the turn signal multifunction switch (1) to the steering column housing.
  2. Position the steering column back in place.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the steering column upper support bracket nuts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Tighten the steering column lower support bracket bolt.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the driver knee bolster bracket. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement.
  9. Install the left lower steering column trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  10. Engage the upper steering column trim cover to the lower steering column trim covers.
