Subject:SES Light due to a P2187 DTC - Inspect for Exhaust Leak

Models:2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP
2007 Saturn Sky Redline
With 2.0L Engine (VIN X - RPO LNF)

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

On rare occasions, a SES light may be experienced due to an exhaust leak at the turbo or catalytic converter gaskets.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If the SI diagnostics do not isolate a cause for this concern, inspect the turbocharger and catalytic converter gaskets for signs of an exhaust leak. Generally, an exhaust leak will not be heard so it may be necessary to visually inspect the related gasket areas for visual signs of an exhaust leak (black discoloration). If an exhaust leak is present, replace the related gasket and evaluate the concern.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
