Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the front floor closeout panel. Refer to Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front .

    3. Object Number: 1923239 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the backup lamp switch (5).

    4. Object Number: 880943 Size: SH
  4. Open the tie strap securing the pigtail to the transmission.
  5. Remove the backup lamp switch with the aluminum washer.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 880943 Size: SH
  1. Install the backup lamp switch with a NEW aluminum washer into the transmission case.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the backup lamp switch to 44 N·m (32 lb ft).

  2. Secure the pigtail to the transmission with the tie strap.

    3. Object Number: 1923239 Size: SH
  3. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the backup lamp switch (5).
  4. Install the front floor closeout panel. Refer to Floor Panel Tunnel Panel Replacement - Front .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
