The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

If there is an electrical failure on the vehicle, you may have questions regarding how to open the rear hatch assembly. By following the procedure below, you should be able to open the rear hatch assembly.

Recommendation/Instructions:
  1. Remove the LEFT rear wheel. (Document ID # 1593694)
  2. Remove the LEFT rear wheelhouse liner. (Document ID # 158670)
  3. Remove the pressure relief valve. (Document ID # 1704185)
  4. Reach into the rear compartment through the opening and locate the child safety release cable and pull handle to unlatch deck lid.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
