Restraint System Check

Make sure the safety belt reminder light and safety belt assemblies are working properly. Look for any other loose or damaged safety belt system parts. If you see anything that might keep a safety belt system from doing its job, have it repaired. Have any torn or frayed safety belts replaced. Also see "Airbag System Check" in your owner manual.

Wiper Blade Check

Inspect wiper blades for wear, cracking, or contamination. Clean the windshield and wiper blades, if contaminated. Replace wiper blades that are worn or damaged. See "Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement" and "Windshield Wiper Blades" in your owner manual for more information.

Weatherstrip Lubrication

Silicone grease on weatherstrips will make them last longer, seal better, and not stick or squeak. Apply silicone grease with a clean cloth. During very cold, damp weather more frequent application may be required. See Recommended Fluids and Lubricants.

Fluid Level Check (Vibe)

Check the power steering pump, rear axle, transfer case, and automatic or manual transmission fluid levels and add as needed. Check for leaks. A fluid loss in these systems could indicate a problem. Have the system inspected and repaired at once.

Manual Transmission Check (Aveo, Solstice)

It is not necessary to check the transmission fluid level. Check for leaks. A fluid leak is the only reason for fluid loss. Have the system inspected and repaired if needed.

Automatic Transmission Check (Aveo)

Check the transmission fluid level; add if needed. A fluid loss may indicate a problem. Check the system and repair if needed.

Automatic Transmission Inspection (Solstice)

It is not necessary to check the transmission fluid level. A transmission fluid leak is the only reason for fluid loss. Check for leaks. If a leak occurs, take the vehicle to your dealer/retailer and have it repaired as soon as possible.

Hydraulic Clutch System Check (Aveo, Solstice)

Check the fluid level in the brake/clutch reservoir. See "Hydraulic Clutch" in your owner manual. A fluid loss in this system could indicate a problem. Have the system inspected and repaired at once.
