Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1717120 Size: SH
  1. Loosen the charge air cooler (CAC) outlet hose clamp (2) at the CAC outlet pipe.
  2. Loosen the CAC outlet hose clamp (1) at the throttle body.
  3. Remove the CAC outlet hose from the CAC outlet pipe and throttle body.

  4. Remove the engine wiring harness clip (1) from the oil level indicator tube bracket.

    5. Object Number: 1717513 Size: SH
  5. Remove the number 1 knock sensor (2) clip from the oil level indicator tube bracket.

    6. Object Number: 1717517 Size: SH
  6. Remove the engine wiring harness clip (4) from the oil level indicator tube bracket.

    7. Object Number: 1717518 Size: SH
  7. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt.
  8. Remove the oil level indicator tube and indicator.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1717518 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the oil level indicator tube O-ring seal with lubricant. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers.
  2. Install the oil level indicator tube to the engine block.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the oil level indicator tube bolt and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    4. Object Number: 1717517 Size: SH
  4. Install the engine wiring harness clip (4) to the oil level indicator tube bracket.

    5. Object Number: 1717513 Size: SH
  5. Install the number 1 knock sensor (2) clip to the oil level indicator tube bracket.

    6. Object Number: 1717515 Size: SH
  6. Install the engine wiring harness clip (1) to the oil level indicator tube bracket.

    7. Object Number: 1717120 Size: SH
  7. Install the CAC outlet hose to the CAC outlet pipe and throttle body.
  8. Tighten the CAC outlet hose clamp (1) at the throttle body.
  9. Tighten the CAC outlet hose clamp (2) at the CAC outlet pipe.

    10. Tighten the clamps to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
