- Perform the following adjustment procedures to properly align the roof lift off panel.
- Remove the windshield upper garnish molding. Refer to
Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement.
- Remove the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement.
- To adjust the front striker perform the following steps:
4.1. | Loosen the front striker, move the striker forward or rearward (fore/aft) to match the alignment of the latch handle. |
4.2. | loosen the striker, move the roof striker bolt outboard and slightly loosen the inboard bolt, pivot the striker on the inboard bolt in 2 mm (0.08 in) increments. |
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
4.3. | Tighten the striker fastener. |
Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
4.4. | When the striker is properly adjusted the handle will snap closed. |
- Install the windshield upper garnish molding. Refer to
Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement.
- Install the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement.
- For major rear latch adjustment adjust the rear latch striker performing the following steps:
7.1. | Remove the roof lift off panel. |
7.2. | Loosen the rear latch striker attaching bolts. |
7.3. | Adjust the position of the latch striker forward or rearward for major adjustment. |
7.4. | Tighten the striker attaching fastener. |
Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
7.5. | Install the roof lift off panel. |
- For minor rear latch adjustment, adjust the latch handle hook one turn at a time to achieve moderate pressure to the latch as follows.
8.1. | Remove the roof lift off panel. |
8.2. | Loosen the set screw locking the latch hook. |
8.3. | Turn the hook in to tighten or out to loosen. |
8.4. | Tighten the set screw. |
8.5. | Install the roof panel. |
- To adjust the rear locator perform the following steps:
9.1. | With the roof installed on the vehicle loosen the locator mounting bolts. |
9.2. | Reposition the locator. |
9.3. | Tighten the mounting fastener. |
Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
