Removal Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the MAP sensor attachment bolts.
  3. Disconnect the MAP sensor harness connector.
  4. Remove the MAP sensor and port seal.

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean any debris from the intake manifold vacuum port hole.
  2. Notice: A port seal must be installed halfway into the intake manifold before installing the MAP sensor to prevent seal damage.

  3. Install the port seal in the intake manifold.
  4. Connect the MAP sensor harness connector. Push in the connector until a click is heard and pull back to confirm a positive engagement.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the MAP sensor and the attachment bolts.
  7. Tighten
Tighten the MAP sensor-to-engine bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
