The solenoid valve relay supplies power to the solenoid valve coils in the ABS Control Module (EBTCM). The solenoid valve relay, located in the EBTCM, is activated whenever the ignition switch is in the RUN position and no faults are present. The solenoid valve relay remains engaged until the ignition is turned Off or a failure is detected.

DTC Parameters

DTC C0125 will set if:

    • ETCM commands relay on, ignition voltage is greater than 11 volts and switch solenoid relay voltage is less than 8 volts for .23 seconds.
    • When this trouble code sets, the EBTCM will disable ABS, and turn On the antilock telltale.
    • Dynamic rear proportioning will only have the hold function.

Diagnostic Aids

    • It is very important to thoroughly inspect wiring components and connectors. Failure to carefully and fully inspect wiring and connectors may result in misdiagnosis, causing part replacement with reappearance of the malfunction.
    • Inspect any circuitry that may be causing the complaint for the following conditions:
       - Backed out terminals
       - Improper mating
       - Broken connector locks
       - Corrosion in connectors/terminals
       - Rubbed through wire insulation
       - Broken wire inside insulation
       - Loose components

Possible causes for DTC C0125 to set:

    • Poor EBTCM connection or terminal mattings.
    • Internal EBTCM solenoid relay contacts open.
    • Internal EBTCM circuit open or high resistance
    • Internal EBTCM solenoid relay coil or relay coil circuit open.
