- Measure the distance between the front machined face of the cylinder block
and the inboard edge of the belt on the flat side at specific locations given.
Tolerance:
The tolerance is 28-31 mm (1.102-1.220 in).
- Dimension from the front face of the cylinder block-to-edge of belt:
Important: The right front tire and splash shield will require removal.
- If the belt to cylinder block clearance does not fall within tolerance:
• | Ensure that the belt is properly located in the pulley grooves on each
pulley. |
• | Inspect the accessory drive belt for edge wear and replace if necessary. |
• | Inspect the accessory drive pulleys for being bent or damaged. |
• | Inspect the accessory components for proper shaft and bearing end play.
Ensure all pulley hubs are properly installed on their shafts. |
- Inspect each pulley radial and axial runout at belt grooves with a dial
indicator:
Tolerance:
The tolerance is (Radial/Axial) 0.38 mm (0.015 in).
