Removal Procedure
Important: Be careful not to damage VIN plate when removing
or replacing upper trim panel.
- Remove the screws located under upper trim panel on the passenger's side of
the vehicle.
- Disengage the clips at location by grasping edges of upper trim panel
and lighting up.
- Disengage the hook-and-loop attachments at rear of the upper trim panel
by reaching under panel and lighting straight up.
- Raise the upper trim panel enough to clear VIN plate.

Remove clutch pushrod retainer
and remove pushrod from clutch pedal
- If replacing the clutch pedal assembly:
• | Remove the clutch pedal pivot shaft nut. |
• | Remove the clutch pedal assembly. |
- If replacing the pivot bushings:
• | Remove the clutch pedal pivot shaft retainer |
• | Remove the clutch pedal. |
• | Remove the clutch pedal bushings. |
Installation Procedure
- If replacing the pivot bushings:
• | Install the new bushings. |
• | Lubricate the inside diameter of bushings. |
• | Install the clutch pedal onto pivot and install the retainer. |
- If replacing the clutch pedal assembly:
• | Install the pedal assembly. |
• | Install the pivot shaft nut and tighten. |
Tighten
Tighten the clutch pedal pivot shaft attachment
nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
- Grease the clutch pedal pushrod pin and install pushrod onto pedal.
- Install the pushrod retainer.
Important: Be sure upper trim panel is correctly seated
on forward edge before installing upper trim panel.
Important: Be careful not to damage VIN plate when removing
or replacing upper trim panel.
- Ensure that the hook-and-loop attachments on upper trim panel are correctly
aligned.
- Position the upper trim panel on retainer assembly.
- Align the tabs on sides of upper trim panel with openings in windshield
garnish molding.
- Align the clips and clip location.
- Firmly snap in clips at clip locations.
- Install the screws on underside of upperside of upper trim panel on passenger's
side of vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the I/P upper trim panel fasteners to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
