Tools Required
SA9120T Differential Bearing
Installer
Important: Always use new differential ball bearings if the bearings were removed.
- Press the differential ball bearings onto differential case using SA9120T
. Check to make sure the bearings are seated.
- Roll up the differential thrust liner and insert into the differential case.
Align the liner inside case so the side gear section with alignment ring sets into
the pocket on the ring gear side of case.
- Place the side gears into position in the housing and hold in position.
- Install the pinion on the tabbed side of the thrust liner and then pull
the thrust liner partially over the pinion gear to hold it in place.
- Place the second pinion into position, directly opposite the first pinion
installed, and pull the thrust liner out until the pinion shaft hole in the cover
and pinions line up.
- Rotate the pinions and thrust liner into the housing together until they
line up with the pinion shaft bore in the housing. Check that side gears are in proper
location.
Important: Always use a new pinion shaft roll pin if the pin was removed.
- Install the pinion shaft and new roll pin. Be sure to drive roll pin flush with
case to prevent interference in the speed sensor signal.
