There is an air bag readiness light on the instrument panel which shows an occupant properly belted, with an inflated air bag labeled as AIR BAG. The light will flash seven times when the ignition key is turned to "RUN" or "START" then go out.

The system checks the air bag system for malfunctions. The light tell you if there is an electrical problem. The system check includes the air bag inflator modules, system wiring, and the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM).

If the air bag readiness light doesn't come on when you start your vehicle or flashes and remains on, or comes on when you are driving, your air bag system may not be working properly. Have your vehicle serviced right away.
