Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 872284 Size: SH

    Caution: Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.

  1. Raise the vehicle squarely on a lift.
  2. Remove the muffler to muffler hanger bracket bolt.

    3. Object Number: 872244 Size: SH
  3. Remove the muffler hanger.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 872244 Size: SH
  1. Install the muffler hanger into the muffler hanger bracket.
  2. Tighten the muffler hanger bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the muffler hanger bolt to 12 N·m (9 lb ft).


    Object Number: 870061 Size: SH

    Important: Ensure that after installing the muffler hanger that the system has not shifted rearward allowing contact between the hanger bracket bolt (1) and the hanger block. This will cause noise. Loosen the muffler strap and shift forward on muffler to eliminate contact - retighten.

  3. If muffler strap needs to be relocated per important above, tighten.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the muffler strap around the muffler to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
