For 1990-2009 cars only
- Note the original position of the lift gate latch striker. Remove the striker.
- For forward or rearward adjustment, loosen the hinge to the roof panel bolts.
- Up and down adjustment can be done with the lift gate to hinge bolts.
- Move the lift gate within the lift gate opening to achieve the best alignment and operation.
- Install the striker to approximately the proper position.
- Adjust the striker. If the striker is removed, ensure that the proper amount of shims are in place.
- Inspect the seals for proper engagement.

Tighten the lift gate hinge-to-hinge bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

Tighten the lift gate striker fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
