Removal Procedure

    Caution: Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.

  1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
  2. Remove the wheel cover or hub cap, if equipped.
  3. Remove the wheel nuts.
  4. Notice: Before installing wheels, remove rust or corrosion from wheel mounting surfaces and brake rotors/drums. Failure to do so can cause wheel nuts to loosen in service.

  5. Remove wheel.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Before installing wheels, remove rust or corrosion from wheel mounting surfaces and brake rotors/drums. Failure to do so can cause wheel nuts to loosen in service.

  1. Position the wheel onto the hub.

  2. Object Number: 859142  Size: SH
  3. Install the wheel nuts and tighten the wheel nuts in a crisscross pattern. Repeat the tightening pattern to ensure the torque is correct.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel nuts to 140 N·m (103 lb ft).

  5. For steel wheel and optional aluminum wheel with large round center hub cap, install the wheel cover or cap onto the wheel. Hand tighten all 4 of the cap nuts with the aid of a socket. Then, with a wrench, tighten each of the caps an additional 1/4 turn (90 degrees).
  6. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
