Important: The fluids and lubricants identified below by name, part number or specification may be obtained from your Saturn retailer. All lubricants are not the same; therefore, use only quality products that meet or exceed the required specifications.

Engine Oil : Engine oil with the American Petroleum Institute Certified for Gasoline Engines "Starburst" symbol of the proper viscosity. To determine the proper viscosity for your vehicle's engine, see Engine Oil .

Engine Coolant : 50/50 Mixture of clean, drinkable water (perferably distilled) and DEX-COOL coolant conforming to Saturn Part No. 21031164.

Hydraulic Brake System : Delco Supreme 11® Brake Fluid or DOT-3 brake fluid (Saturn P/N 21013073/GM P/N 12377967).

Hydraulic Clutch System : Delco Supreme 11® Brake Fluid or DOT-3 brake fluid (Saturn P/N 21013073/GM P/N 12377967).

Parking Brake Cable Guide : Chassis lubricat (GM P/N 12377985 or equivalent) or lubricat meeting requirements of NLGI #2, category LB or GC-LB.

Power Steering System : Saturn Part No. 21007583 or GM Power Steering Fluid, GM Part No. 1052884 (16 oz.) or 01050017 (32 oz.) or an equivalent fluid meeting GM specification 9985010.

Automatic/Manual Transaxle : Saturn Transaxle Fluid (P/N  21005856) or DEXRON®-III*.

Key Lock Cylinders : Lubricate with light oil or graphite lubricant. (Do not use aerosols.)

Glove Box Latch : Lubricate, if necessary, with any silicone base lubricating fluid. (Do not use aerosols.)

Windshield Washer Solvent : Add washer solvent (Saturn P/N 1051515) or equivalent, as necessary, mixed per the manufacturer's instructions.

Hood Latch Assembly:

- Pivots and Spring Anchor : Lubricate with SAE 5W-30 engine oil. (Do not use aerosols.)

- Release Pawl : Lubricate with chassis grease meeting requirements of NLGI Grade 2, Category LB (GM Part No. 1052497) or equivalent.

Hood and Door Hinges, Headlight Door Assemblies, Rear Folding Seats, and Trunk Lid Hinges : Lubricate with SAE 5W-30 engine oil. (Do not use aerosols.)

Door Hold-Open Check Links : Lubricate with Lubriplate® grease (aerosol) into the case; top, bottom, and sides. Wipe off excess lubricant. Use Lubriplate® 70 or equivalent to lubricate (Saturn P/N 21038914).

Sunroof Track : Use Lubriplate® (Saturn P/N 21038869) or equivalent.

Weatherstrips : Lubricate with Dielectric Silicone Grease (GM Part No. U.S. 12345579) or equivalent.

* If used in the automatic transaxle, a maintenance interval of 30,000 miles (50,000 km) must be followed for transaxle fluid and filter changes.
