Passenger Compartment Lamp Control Circuit High
Circuit Description
The BCM directly controls the dome lamp when the dome lamp switch is set in
the "DOOR" position. On the wagon the BCM also controls the rear hatch courtesy lamp.
When any door (or wagon hatch) is open the BCM will ground circuit 156, providing
a ground path for the dome lamp (and cargo lamp on wagons).
The dome lamp is also commanded On when the key is removed from the ignition
or an RKE request to turn On the dome lamp occurs.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
• | The Dome lamp does not come On when requested by the BCM |
• | Circuit 156 shorted to battery |
Diagnostic Aids
• | Check for poor connection at the BCM. |
• | Inspect the harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper terminal
mating, broken connector locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals and poor terminal
to wire connection (terminal crimped over wire insulation and not conductors). |
• | Inspect the wiring harness for damage. |
• | If fault is suspected to be intermittent, wiggling harness wiring may
help in locating fault. |
