Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 872284 Size: SH

    Caution: Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.

  1. Raise the vehicle squarely on a lift.
  2. Remove the muffler strap fastener.
  3. Remove the muffler hanger fastener.
  4. Remove the muffler hanger bracket fasteners.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 885635 Size: SH
  1. Install the muffler hanger bracket and fasteners.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the muffler hanger bracket to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  2. Install the muffler hanger and fastener.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the muffler hanger bolt to 12 N·m (9 lb ft).


    Object Number: 870061 Size: SH

    Important: Ensure that after installing the muffler hanger bracket that the system has not shifted rearward allowing contact between the hanger bracket bolt (1) and the hanger block. This will cause noise. Loosen the muffler strap and shift forward on muffler to eliminate contact - retighten.

  3. Install the muffler, muffler strap and tighten.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the muffler strap around the muffler to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
