Removal Procedure

    Caution: Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.

  1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
  2. Remove bolt attaching EGR pipe to intake manifold.
  3. Lower vehicle.
  4. Remove bolt attaching EGR pipe to cylinder head.
  5. Remove EGR pipe. Make sure EGR gaskets are not retained in intake manifold or cylinder head.

Installation Procedure

  1. Assemble EGR pipe assembly with new gasket to intake manifold.
  2. Install EGR pipe with new gasket to cylinder head with attachment bolt.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten EGR Pipe-to-Cylinder Head (LL0) to 10 N·m (89 lb in)

  4. Raise vehicle.
  5. Install EGR pipe to intake manifold with attachment bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten EGR Pipe-to-Intake Manifold (LL0) to 10 N·m (89 lb in)

  7. Lower vehicle.
