Here are some cleaning tips:
• | Always read the instructions on the cleaner label. |
• | Clean up stains as soon as you can - before they set. |
• | Use a clean cloth or sponge, and change to a clean area often. A soft brush may be used if stains are stubborn. |
• | Use solvent-type cleaners in a well ventilated area only. If you use them, don't saturate the stained area. |
• | If a ring forms after spot cleaning, clean the entire area immediately or it will set. |
Here are some cleaning tips:
First, see if you have to use solvent-type cleaner at all. Some spots and stains will clean off better with just water and mile soap.
If you need to use a solvent:
• | Gently scrape excess soil from the trim material with a clean, dull knife or scraper. Use very little cleaner, light pressure and clean cloths (preferably cheesecloth). |

• | When you clean a stain from fabric, immediately dry the area with a blow dryer to help prevent a cleaning ring. |
Stains caused by such things as catsup, coffee (black), egg, fruit, fruit juice, milk, soft drinks, vomit, urine and blood can be removed as follows:

There are may fabric protection products on the market that will help you in protecting the fabric in your vehicle. Before using any type of fabric protection, be sure to follow the manufacturer's warnings and instructions.
Even if you choose to use this type of protection, you'll still need to clean you upholstery and carpet often to keep it looking new.
Use warm water and a clean cloth.
• | Rub with a clean, damp cloth to remove dirt. You may have to do this more than once. |
• | Things like tar, asphalt and shoe polish will stain if you do not get them off quickly. Use a clean cloth and vinyl cleaner. See your Saturn retailer for this product. |
Use soft cloth with lukewarm water with mile soap or saddle soap and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Then, let the leather dry naturally. Do not use heat to dry.
• | For stubborn stains, use a leather cleaner. See your retailer for this product. |
• | Never use oil, varnishes, solvent based or abrasive cleaners, furniture polish or shoe polish on leather. |
• | Soiled leather should be cleaned immediately. If dirt is allowed to work into the finish, it can harm the leather. |
Use only mild soap and water to clean the top surfaces of the instrument panel. Sprays containing silicones or waxes may cause annoying reflections in the windshield and even make it difficult to see through the windshield under certain conditions.
Use only mild soap and water or a clean damp lint-free cloth. Sprays containing silicones or waxes may cause a hazy appearance on the instrument panel cluster lens. To remove silicone waxes from the instrument panel cluster lens, use a mixture of five parts clean water, one part ammonia, and one part mile dish soap and a lint-free cloth. Always wipe with a new section of the cloth to remove all the residue.
Use only a mild soap and water solution on a soft cloth or sponge. Commercial cleaners may affect the surface finish.
Glass should be cleaned often. GM Glass Cleaner (Part No. 21070063) or a liquid household glass cleaner will remove normal tobacco smoke and dust films on interior glass.
Notice: If you use abrasive cleaners when cleaning glass surfaces on your vehicle, you could scratch the glass and/or cause damage to the integrated radio antenna and the rear window defogger. When cleaning the glass on your vehicle, use only a soft cloth and glass cleaner.
