Vertical aim adjustment range allows a vertical reading of plus 0.76 degrees or minus 0.76 degrees, as indicated by the center of the vertical aim bubble. If the bubble center is not in this range, or if you think the aim is too high or low, the bubble position may be adjusted. It is recommended this procedure be performed by your Saturn retailer.
State inspection stations will generally allow a vertical reading of plus 0.76 degrees or minus 0.76 degrees from the center of the bubble. It is recommended that the upper limit not exceed plus 0.4 degrees from the center of the bubble. Other drivers may flash their high beams at you if your adjustment is much above plus 0.4 degrees.
If you find the headlamp aiming needs adjustment, and if visiting your retailer is not practical, the vertical aim may be adjusted as follows:
• | The vehicle must be on a level surface. If the vehicle is not level, DO NOT adjust the aim. The bubble aim indicator will not tell you that the vehicle is level. |
• | Inflate the tires to recommended pressure. |
• | Fill the gas tank and have one person or 160 pounds (75 kg) on the driver's seat. |
• | There should not be any cargo or loading of the vehicle, except it should have a full tank of gas and one person or 160 pounds (75 kg) on the driver's seat. |
Reposition the bubble position to zero by turning the vertical adjusting screw with an E8 Torx™ socket or T15 Torx™ screwdriver.
DO NOT tamper with the bubble level calibration set screw. Movement of this screw will destroy basic lamp calibration. Adjust the vertical aim with the vertical adjustment screw only .
