Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 866528 Size: SH
  1. Open the I/P compartment door.
  2. Turn the right and left I/P compartment door stop assemblies to release the door and compartment assembly from the I/P retainer assembly.

    3. Important: The lower I/P door pins are on the right and left outside edges at the base of the compartment.

  3. Push the lower I/P door pins from the outside of the door to inside the I/P compartment.
  4. Remove the I/P compartment.

Disassembly Procedure

  1. Remove the screws attaching the inside compartment to the I/P compartment door.
  2. Push the I/P door pins from inside of the compartment to the outside of the I/P compartment door.
  3. Remove the I/P compartment from the I/P compartment door.
  4. Remove the I/P compartment retainer bushing.
  5. Pry between the I/P compartment retainer bushing and the I/P compartment door with a small screwdriver.
  6. Remove the I/P compartment latch.
    7. 6.1. Remove the screws attaching the latch to the I/P compartment door.
    6.2. Remove the rod from the retainers on the handle assembly.
    6.3. Remove the latch and rod assembly from the I/P compartment door.

  7. Remove the U-clip from handle assembly.
  8. Remove the handle assembly from the I/P compartment door.

Assembly Procedure
  1. Position the handle assembly in the I/P compartment door.
  2. Install the U-clip under the retaining tabs on the handle assembly.
  3. Install the latch and rod assembly to the handle assembly.
  4. Position the latch and rod assembly to the I/P compartment door.

    5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the fasteners to attach the latch and rod assembly to the I/P compartment door.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the glove compartment latch fastener to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the I/P compartment door retainer bushing.
    7. 6.1. Position the I/P compartment door retainer bushings in the I/P compartment door holes.
    6.2. Push the I/P compartment door retainer bushings in until seated.
  7. Position the I/P compartment to the I/P compartment door.
  8. Install the fasteners.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the glove compartment door outer cover faster to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Push the I/P compartment door pins from the outside I/P door to the inside I/P compartment.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 866528 Size: SH
  1. Position the I/P compartment door assembly to the retainer assembly.
  2. Install the I/P compartment door pins into the instrument panel retainer assembly.
  3. Lift the I/P compartment enough to install the I/P compartment door stop assemblies.
  4. Close the I/P compartment door.
