Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 890225  Size: SH
  1. Ensure the ignition is OFF.
  2. Remove the air induction system and the air filter box from the battery tray and move them aside to provide access to the sensor.
  3. Disconnect the transaxle fluid temperature sensor harness connector, use pliers to squeeze the connector while removing.
  4. Remove the transaxle fluid temperature sensor.

Installation


    Object Number: 859349  Size: SH
  1. Apply sealant with Teflon® P/N 21485278 or equivalent on the threads before installing.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the transaxle fluid temperature sensor.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle fluid temperature sensor to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Install the air box and install the three air box bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the air box attachment bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the air induction system.
  8. Replace any fluid lost.
