Rattle, Pop, or Clicking Noise from the Front End of the Vehicle Over Rough Road Surfaces

Rattle pop, or clicking noise coming from the front of the vehicle while traveling over rough road surfaces. These noises may sound like a dash rattle from inside the vehicle.

These noises may be caused by a windshield support lower frame clip that has become loose and fallen down the windshield pillar or is located under the air inlet grille panel.

Refer to the procedure in this bulletin to verify and remove, if required loose windshield support lower frame clip.

1. Open the front door on the side of the vehicle with the rattle, pop, or clicking noise.



2. Look for the white plastic windshield support lower frame clip, refer to top illustration, between the lower fender and spaceframe, through the door opening.

•	If the clip is found, remove and verify that the rattle, pop, or clicking noise is no longer in the vehicle.

•	If no clip is found, proceed with the next step.




3. Remove the air inlet grille panel and look for the white plastic windshield support lower frame clip which might have lodged or fallen into the air inlet grill panel opening. Refer to Air Inlet Grill Panel removal and installation procedures in the Front End section of the appropriate model year Body/Repair Service Manual.
