Info - Remanufactured Transmission and Remanufactured Valve Body Information Requirements

Subject:Remanufactured Transmission and Remanufactured Valve Body Information Requirements

Models:1991-2002 Saturn S-Series Vehicles

Attention: Fixed Operations Manager, Parts Manager, and Technician

Purpose

When replacing or repairing the valve body or valve body components of a previously remanufactured Saturn S-Series transmission or valve body, the supplier requires additional information to assist in the remanufacturing process. The required information is the remanufactured transmission serial number and/or the valve body serial number. The remanufactured transmission serial number is located below the part number on the metal tag that is affixed to the top of the torque converter housing. The remanufactured valve body serial number is stamped on the side of the valve body below the part number. The serial numbers for both the transmission and valve body consist of the year (04), Julian date (065), and serial number (131), in the following format: 04065 131.

The supplier will begin stamping the core tags that are included with the remanufactured valve body with a place to record these serial numbers. Until you receive remanufactured service replacement parts with the core tag stamped, record the serial numbers in the open area at the bottom of the yellow core return tag (item S03 99300).

If replacing valve body components (actuator and/or buss plate), please record the necessary serial numbers on the back of the orange failed part return tag (item S196100T) in the customer complaint section.

Refer to the following table when this additional information is required.
