Info - Extended Warranty Available for Saturn Tech 2 Scan Tools

This bulletin is identical to Saturn bulletin 03-I-03 previously published to U.S. retailers. This bulletin is being issued for electronic reference only and the paper bulletin (03-I-03) should NOT be discarded.

Some retailers have expressed a concern regarding the high cost of out of warranty repairs with their Saturn Tech 2® Scan Tools.

The Saturn Tech 2® Scan Tool comes with a standard five-year manufacturer warranty. Extended warranty contracts are available from GM Dealer Equipment, and are priced from $150.50 to $407.00. According to data provided by GM Dealer Equipment, the average cost of a single Saturn Tech 2® Scan Tool unit repair is approximately $785.00. The average repair time is 5 to 8 business days. Retailers with extended coverage will receive a replacement unit within 24 hours.

The following process may be used to obtain an extended warranty contract for the Saturn Tech 2® Scan Tool:

1. The Saturn Retailer should call 1-800-GM-TOOLS (1-800-468-6657).
2. At the automated prompt, select option 1 (Dealer Equipment).
3. Ask the customer service representative about Saturn Tech 2® Scan Tool extended warranty contracts. If you wish to purchase an extended warranty, the customer service representative will fax you a form.
4. Complete the dealer information required on the form.
5. Select the desired option for length of extended warranty. The pricing for each Saturn Tech 2® Scan Tool is as follows:

•	1 year, $150.50

•	2 years, $280.00

•	3 years, $407.00

6. Fill in serial number information for the Saturn Tech 2® Scan Tools that you wish to have covered.
7. Fax the completed form to the number indicated.

GM Dealer Equipment will supply a copy of the completed form, along with a purchase order to the repair service provider, Vetronics®.

Retailers should contact Vetronics® at 1-800-321-4889 if a Saturn Tech 2® Scan Tool is in need of repair.
