Removal Procedure

Notice: Do not use hand tools or tire irons alone to dismount tires as they may damage the tire bead or wheel rim.

Use a tire changing machine to remove the tires from the wheels. Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions.

Installation Procedure

Use a tire changing machine to mount the tires. Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions.

    Notice: Do not use hand tools or tire irons alone to dismount tires as they may damage the tire bead or wheel rim.

  1. Clean the rim bead flanges with a wire brush or coarse steel wool to remove lubricants, old rubber and light rust.
  2. If required, install a new tire valve.
  3. Remove the tire valve core.
  4. Lubricate the tire bead with an approved tire lubricant.
  5. Install the tire following the equipment manufacturer's instructions.
  6. Caution: Do not exceed 275 kPa (40 psi) pressure while attempting to seat beads. If beads do not seat under this pressure, deflate tire, lubricate bead and attempt to seat. Do not stand over tire while inflating. Bead may break when snapping over rim safety hump, and cause personal injury.

  7. After installation, inflate the tire to 275 kPa (40 psi) so that the beads are completely seated.

  9. Install the tire valve core.
  10. Adjust the cold tire inflation pressure according to tire loading information sticker located on the driver's door opening below the door striker -- coupe, or rear edge of the driver's door -- sedan and wagon.
