Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the hood.
- Push the rod toward the engine and twist the rod out of bushing, then remove the rod.
- If required, pry the bushing out of the upper tie bar.
Caution: When the hood hold open rod is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
Installation Procedure
- If removed, install the bushing in the upper tie bar.
- Install the rod into the bushing by pushing the rod in and twisting.
- Remove the hood support and close the hood.
