Front Door - Sedan/Wagon Shown - Coupe Similar

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 861246  Size: SH

    Important: Do not damage the insulator panel when removing the regulator.

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement . The outer panel is removed in the illustration to show the location.
  2. Remove the speaker assembly from the door.
  3. Partially remove the water deflector to access the openings in the door structure.
  4. Remove the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement . If the power regulator has failed in the full up position, lower the window and the regulator as an assembly to access the window insulator (slide clip) retainer tabs.
  5. Remove the regulator bolts (4 forward and 1 rear).
  6. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the regulator, if equipped.
  7. Collapse the arms of the regulator assembly.
  8. Use one hand through the speaker opening to rotate the regulator assembly to a vertical position and slide the regulator assembly out of the door.

Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the regulator assembly into the door and position the regulator with the attachment bolts.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the wiring to the regulator, if equipped.
  4. Raise the regulator into position and install the bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the front window regulator bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the window to the regulator assembly. Slide the sash onto the window insulators (slide clips). Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement .
  7. Install the speaker assembly.
  8. Install the water deflector.
  9. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
