Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 868755 Size: SH

    Caution: If energy absorber is removed or damaged it must be replaced with a new part. If omitted, the vehicle will not meet federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS), subjecting the retailer to possible civil penalties for making the vehicle inoperative to the FMVSS, and increasing the risk of injury to the vehicle occupants.

  1. Remove the lower trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 868804 Size: SH
  2. Partially remove the water deflector.

    3. Object Number: 859391 Size: SH
  3. Fold in the sides of the lower latch sound barrier and remove.

Installation Procedure
  1. Fold in the sides of the lower latch sound barrier and install into the lower latch cavity. Be sure that the barrier seats into the latch area and the lower latch cable is fitted into the barrier slot.

    2. Object Number: 868824 Size: SH
  2. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement . Be sure that there are no wrinkles in the area indicated on the illustration.
  3. Install the lower trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
