Fluid Leaks from Automatic Transaxle End Cover

Condition
Some customers may comment of transaxle fluid leaks from automatic transaxle end cover area.
Cause
This condition maybe caused by a porosity leak in the automatic transaxle end cover.
Correction
Replace 1st design end cover with 2nd design end cover to correct porosity leak concern. The 2nd design end cover is an enhanced design to improve the transaxle's ability to resist porosity leaks. A 2nd design end cover and bolt kit (P/N 21005835) has been released to back service all 1991-2001 S-Series vehicles. When servicing a 1st design end cover, a 2nd design end kit must be used. When servicing a 2nd design end cover, parts are available individually.
To replace end cover, Refer to "End Cover" procedure in the Removal and Installation section of 2000/2001 S-Series Automatic Transaxle Service Manual.
