Auxiliary Water Pump Replacement L81

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the coolant. Refer to Draining the Cooling System procedure in this section.
3. Raise the vehicle.



4. Disconnect the auxiliary coolant pump from the engine harness connector.
5. Remove the pump bracket-to-transmission bolt.
6. Remove the auxiliary coolant pump hose clamp and hose from the pump outlet.
7. Remove the heater outlet hose clamp and hose from the pump inlet.
8. Remove the pump assembly.

1. Install the heater outlet hose to pump assembly.
2. Position the clamp at the 5 o'clock position.
3. Install the auxiliary coolant pump hose to the pump assembly
4. Position the clamp at the 10 o'clock position.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

5. Position the pump assembly to transmission and install the bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the auxiliary coolant pump bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Coolant Replacement in this section of the service manual.
