Tools Required

    • J 43405 Engine Support Fixture Adapter
    • SA9105E Engine Support Fixture

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 952023 Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. L61 vehicles only, install the SA9105E and J 43405
  3. L81 vehicles only, support the powertrain using the floor jack with 2 in x 6 in wood block placed under the oil pan.

  4. Remove the mount to mount bracket bolts.

    5. Object Number: 928650 Size: SH
  5. Remove the mount to the frame rail nuts.
  6. Remove the mount.

    7. Object Number: 928024 Size: SH
  7. Remove the mount bracket to engine bolt.
    8. • L61 (3 bolts)
    • L81 (4 bolts)

  8. Remove the mount bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 928024 Size: SH
  1. Install the mount bracket to the engine.
  2. Install the bracket to the engine bolts.

    3. Tighten

        • Tighten the bracket-to-engine bolts (L61) to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).
        • Tighten the bracket-to-engine bolts (L81) to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    Important: On V6 vehicles install 1 spacer onto each frame rail stud.

  3. Position the mount to the frame rail.
  4. Install the mount to frame rail nuts and tighten.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the Mount to frame rail nuts 110 N·m (81 lb ft).

  5. Hand start all the mount to bracket bolts. Reposition the powertrain as required to allow all bolts to hand start.

  6. Tighten the mount to bracket bolts, starting with center positions first.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the mount to bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft)

  7. Remove the engine support.
  8. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  9. Start the engine and observe the idle shake, if excessive perform the powertrain balance procedure Operation No.2. Refer to Engine and Transmission Mount Balancing - All Mounts .
