Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 963963 Size: SH
  1. Loosen the clamp at the air cleaner assembly and throttle body assembly.
  2. Remove the attachment bolts from the outlet resonator/duct assembly.
  3. Remove the outlet resonator/duct assembly.

    4. Object Number: 963185 Size: SH
  4. Remove the resonator outlet duct assembly bracket from manifold.

    5. Object Number: 958439 Size: SH
  5. remove the intake manifold cover bolts and cover.

    6. Object Number: 959782 Size: SH
  6. Remove the intake runner linkage cover.
  7. Remove the runner linkage bolt to intake manifold.

    8. Object Number: 964343 Size: SH
  8. Remove the upper runner shaft bolts to intake manifold arrow.
  9. Remove the runner shaft/linkage and diaphragms and assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 964343 Size: SH
  1. Install the shaft assembly into the intake manifold.
  2. Position the shaft seal into the correct location.
  3. Install the runner shaft bolts to intake manifold.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the runner shaft-to-intake manifold bolts 6 cylinder to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Install the runner shaft linkage to intake manifold bolt.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the intake runner shaft linkage-to-intake manifold 6 cylinder to 4.4 N·m (39 lb in).

  5. If top cover gasket is damaged, the top cover assembly is replaced.

    6. Object Number: 959273 Size: SH
  6. Install the sleeve seals to intake manifold top cover.

    7. Object Number: 964466 Size: SH
  7. Apply the Loctite® 242 to all top cover to manifold bolts.
  8. Install the top cover into position and tighten the outer intake manifold bolts.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the intake manifold top cover-to-manifold bolts L81 to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  9. Install the inner manifold to top cover bolts.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the inner intake manifold to top cover bolts to 4.4 N·m (39 lb in).


    Object Number: 963185 Size: SH
  10. Install the outlet resonator duct assembly bracket to intake manifold.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the outlet resonator duct assembly bracket-to-intake manifold nuts 6 cylinder to 5 N·m (44 lb in).


    Object Number: 963963 Size: SH
  11. Install the outlet resonator duct assembly into position.
  12. Tighten the clamp at throttle body assembly.
  13. Position the outlet resonator duct assembly to support bracket and install the bolts.

    14. Tighten
    Tighten the outlet resonator/duct assembly-to-support bracket bolts 6 cylinder to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  14. Tighten the clamp at the air cleaner assembly.
