Removal Procedure
- Open and support the hood.
- Push the rod toward the engine and twist rod out of the bushing.
- Remove rod from vehicle.
Caution: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
Installation Procedure
- If removed, install bushing into upper tie bar.
- Install rod by using rod end into bushing and twisting.
- Remove the hood support.
- Close the hood.
