The lever on the right side of the steering column operates the windshield wipers and washer. This lever also controls the rear window wiper and washer.

Windshield Wiper

Caution: In freezing weather, do not use your washer until the windshield is warmed. Otherwise the washer fluid can form ice on the windshield, blocking your vision.

The windshield wiper/washer lever has five settings. Move the windshield wiper/washer lever to the position you want:

    • HI -- The wipers will run at high speed continuously in this position. To select setting, move the windshield wiper/washer lever from the "OFF" position counterclockwise three positions.
    • LO -- The wipers will run at low speed continuously in this position. To select this setting, move the windshield wiper/washer lever from the "OFF" position counterclockwise two positions.
    • INT -- Select this setting when there is light rain or snow. This setting enables you to change the time between windshield wipes. To select this setting, move the windshield wiper/washer lever from the "OFF" position counterclockwise one position. Next, rotate the band on the windshield wiper/washer lover counterclockwise to one of the following positions:
       - "1" position: Select this setting if a long delay between windshield wipes is desired.
       - "2" position: Select this setting if a medium delay between windshield wipes is desired.
       - "3" position: Select this setting if a short delay between windshield wipes is desired.
    • OFF -- Select this setting to turn off the windshield wipers.
    • MIST - The wipers will perform a single wipe in this position. To select this setting, more the windshield wiper/washer lever from the "OFF" position clockwise one position.
Be sure to clear ice and snow from the wiper blades before using them. If they're frozen to the windshield, carefully loosen or thaw them. If the blades do become damaged, replace them with new blades.
Heavy snow or ice can overload the wiper motor. Clear away snow or ice to prevent an overload. If your windshield wipers are stalled for a few seconds, an electronic circuit breaker will stop the wiper motor until it cools to protect it from damage.
To reset the circuit breaker, move the windshield wiper/washer lever back to the "OFF" position and then move it to the desired position. If your windshield wipers are stalled for a few seconds in high speed, the wiper fuse may open.

Windshield Washer

Pull the windshield wiper/washer lever toward you to spray washer fluid on the windshield. The spray will continue until you release the elver. If the wipers are "OFF", the wipers will make three complete wipes and then stop.

Rear Window Wiper/Washer

Object Number: 1350480 Size: B2

The rear wiper switch is a three-position switch that is located on the wiper/washer lever on the right side of the steering column.

The three positions are "OFF," "ON," and "WASH," "OFF" and "ON" are fixed positions. To change the amount of time between wipes, rotate the band on the wiper/washer lever to one of the three intermittent (INT) wiper settings.

The "WASH" position will spray washer fluid onto the back window. The fluid will stop spraying when you release the switch. The wiper will continue to be "ON" until you turn the switch to the "OFF" position.
