The wiring circuits in your vehicle are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses. This greatly reduces the chance of fires caused by electrical problems.

There are two fuse blocks in your Saturn vehicle -- the "underhood fuse block" and the "instrument panel fuse block."

To identify and check fuses and relays, refer to the Fuse Usage Chart on the inside surface of the fuse panel door.

Instrument Panel Fuse Block

Object Number: 1570862 Size: B3

The instrument panel fuse block is located by passenger's left leg.

Underhood Fuse Block

Object Number: 1532952 Size: B3

The underhood fuse block is located in the forward part of the engine compartment near the battery. When you replace a bad fuse, be sure to use one with the same rating.

To identify and check fuses and relays, refer to the fuse and relay ussage chart inside the fuse block cover.

To remove a fuse, place the wide end of the fuse puller over the plastic end of the fuse. Squeeze the ends over the fuse and pull it out.

Look at the silver-colored band inside the fuse. If the band is broken or melted, replace the fuse. Be sure you replace a bad fuse with a new of the same rating.

This chart lists the maxifuses and the minifuses they control and the following chart lists the systems they control.
