Anti-Lockout Protection

This feature makes it difficult for you to lock your key in your vehicle. See your retailer to have this feature activated. If the key is left in the ignition, and then the driver's or front passenger's door is opened, a power door lock switch is pressed, and the door is closed, all doors will lock. However, within one second, the driver's door will unlock.

There's one time the lockout deterrent feature won't work. If your vehicle has remote keyless entry and you use your transmitter to unlock the doors when your key is in the ignition, the chime will sound three times. this reminds you that your key is in the ignition. If you then close the door with your key still in the ignition, the doors will lock and the driver's door will not unlock as described above.

The lockout deterrent feature can't guarantee that you'll never be locked out of your vehicle. If you use the manual door lock, or leave your key inside the vehicle but not in the ignition, you could still lock your key inside the vehicle. Always remember to take your keys with you.
