Cause

TCM Calibration

Correction

Install new TCM calibration on all affected vehicles, as identified above, including vehicles in new Retailer inventory and any that return for service during the applicable warranty coverage period. To determine if an updated calibration is required, refer to the following procedure.

Important: Before installing new TCM calibration, make sure the Service Stall System (SSS) version is 10.5 or greater.

Procedure

  1. Connect Scan Tool to the vehicle.
  2. Navigate to the 3.0L (VIN B) Powertrain Menu.
  3. Select ID INFORMATION.
  4. Select TRANSAXLE INFORMATION.
  5. Read CALIBRATION ID.
  6. • If TCM calibration ID number is 9938102319, reprogram the TCM with the updated calibration. Refer to "Service Programming System (SPS)" in the Saturn Service Stall System (SSS) User Guide for reprogramming procedures.
    • If TCM calibration ID number is not 9938102319, do not reprogram the TCM. The updated calibration is already installed and reprogramming is not required.
